The noise level is an indication for the risk of receiving false alerts through Eyer’s APIs. If it is below 2 means that at least 75% of the alerts are going to be based on historical data of good quality. High noise levels are normal in new environments, and occasional spikes aren't a concern. However, if the noise level stays above 2 for more than 6 weeks after connecting your environment, it means you're monitoring resources with unpredictable behavior. Noise levels can rise for some weeks after connecting new resources to Eyer.
Filtering out noise
Each alert is assigned an "alert_status" ranging from 0 to 5. Only alerts with an alert_status below 2 are considered reliable. To filter out noise, focus only on alerts with an alert_status below 2. Even in low-noise environments, we recommend filtering out alerts with an alert_status of 2 or higher to avoid bursts of noise.
